I asked one of my colleagues who is known as the GRANDMASTER of SEO. My colleague and as my mentor, he has shared some tips that nobody was able to give. Very precise and to the point. Here is his quick bio: Due to protect his privacy, I will call him Grandmaster.  Within 6 months, he managed himself to appear on the first page Google multiple times with high competitive keywords like “computer training” and “online candy store.” His business model, of course, is a lot more than creating niche websites. In fact, he is not in to creating niche sites at all. His focus is purely on branding his authority site to sell his products. In other words, he doesn’t use exact keywords in his domain, and he was still able to get his site on 1st Google. It usually takes him about 6 to 9 months to receive 10k targeted visitors on his site. Amazing!

2 Amazing Tips from the Grandmaster

He said you only need TWO THINGS to be on the 1st page Google. Knowing his background and his credibility, I knew that he really meant it. Here are the two deadly weapons.

1. Domain Age
2. Credibility

That’s it! Hundreds of tips boiled down to just two commandment. Thy shall buy aged domain name, and increase your credibility. Period.
Domain Name: Of course the question is ‘how.’ Well, according to him, domain age must be at least 2 YEARS OLD, and I asked him why? Don’t even think about buying a new domain name and expect it to get on the first page over night. Even if you have the exact domain name, it will be very difficult to get yourself on the first page Google. Do whatever you can to obtain aged domain name.

Credibility: If you fail to build credibility with the community, you are no longer important to Google. Ouch. People tend to think about what Google likes, but never really thought about the other way around. If the community likes your site, Google will like your site as well. Google follows after the community’s interest, and that will never change. So, how in the world do you build your trust? By creating quality backlinks from other authority sites. One quality link can outweigh any garbage backlinks.
